Chief Justice Hombegowda Memorial Gold Cup Mysore University Inter-Collegiate Football: Big win for Sapient College

Sapient College of Commerce and Management registered a 5-4 (by penalties) over SBRR Mahajana FGC, Mysuru and entered the semi-final league stage in the Chief Justice Hombegowda Memorial Gold Cup University of Mysore (UoM) Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament played at the University Football Grounds here yesterday.

At full time, both the teams were level 0-0 and in the penalty shoot-out, Steiner, Gokul, Jeevan, Rishab and Hemanth scored for Sapient College of Commerce and Management while Nitin, Karan, Manish and Hemanth scored for the loser SBRR Mahajana FGC.

In the other games, PES, Mandya beat De Paul FGC 1-0 and the match-winning goal was scored by Chandan of PES Mandya in the 50th minute.

St. Joseph’s FGC, Hassan beat St. Philomena’s FGC 6-4 (penalties) after being level 1-1 at full time. For St. Joseph’s FGC, Hassan, Charles scored in the regular time in the 28th minute while Ranjeeth, Charles, Sanjay, Rikin and Samrudh converted the penalties.

For St. Philomena’s FGC, Samir (20th) scored in the regular time and in the penalty shoot out, Wahid, Samir and Rakshith scored. MICA, Sapient College of Commerce and Management, PES, Mandya and St. Joseph’s FGC, Hassan have qualified for the semi-final league which begins from today.
