Bengaluru: An arrest warrant has been issued by the Chikmagalur JMFC Court against Sandalwood actor Sudeep following a complaint filed by one Deepak Mayur.
Deepak, the owner of a coffee plantation in Chikmagalur, had petitioned the Court alleging that Sudeep and Mahesh (Director) had cheated him of Rs. 1.5 crore after damaging his ancestral property for the shooting of ‘Vaarasdara,’ a Kannada TV serial. Sudeep’s television serial production ‘Kichcha Creations’ had rented Deepak’s house and garden in Chikmagalur for a weekly serial. Deepak registered a case against Sudeep for the loss from his productions, and also for not paying the rent.
Deepak, the coffee estate owner, alleged that Sudeep’s production house owes him Rs. 1.5 crore for destroying the plantation in the course of a shoot.
According to sources, Sudeep was summoned by the Court to attend the hearing yesterday. As Sudeep failed to attend the Court, the Court issued an arrest warrant against the actor.
