Mysuru: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy died after falling off a swing on which he was sleeping at Sakleshpur on Sunday night.
The little boy, identified as Mithun Patel, is the son of Shivu and Vrunda couple, residents of J.P. Nagar in city.
Shivu and Vrunda couple, who wanted to go on pilgrimage to places such as Dharmasthala, Subramanya and Horanadu among others, left Mysuru yesterday and reached Sakleshpur where they stayed overnight at a relative’s estate. As Mithun wanted to sleep, they made him lay down on a swing.
Mithun, during sleep, rolled on the swing and fell down from it. An iron rod to which the swing was fixed fell on the head of the kid resulting in blood oozing out from the kid’s ear and nostrils. The couple immediately took Mithun to a hospital in Sakleshpur, where the doctors declared the child ‘brought dead.’
The body of Mithun was brought to city last night and the last rites will be held at Doora village today.
Mithun’s grandfather Somanna has been serving as the Gunman of former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa since 20 years.
