Children colour their imagination at Peace Poster contest

Lions Clubs International organises ‘Journey of Peace’ drawing competition

Mysuru:  Pujita Hansada, an eighth standard student of Mysore West Lions Seva Niketana School bagged the first prize in ‘Journey of Peace’ poster contest 2019-20 organised by Lions Clubs International District 317A, held at Curzon Park premises near Mysore Palace North Gate in the city yesterday.

Anagha, sixth standard student, also from Mysore West Lions Seva Niketana School won the second prize while 7th std student Sanvi Harish of St. Joseph Central School, Vijayanagar, secured third prize. Meanwhile, 12 other students were awarded with consolation prizes. More than 600 students from Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts participated in the drawing competition.

The event was inaugurated by District Governor Ln. Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy. Horticulture Department Deputy Director K. Rudresh was the Chief Guest. First Vice District Governor  Ln. Dr. G.A. Ramesh, District Cabinet Secretary Ln. N. Jayaramu, Treasurer Ln. N. Gangadarappa. Ln. T.S. Ravindranath and others were present.

The winners of the contest to be held in all 75 Lions Districts will be sent to International Lions Club. Winner among those contestants will get Rs. 3.5 lakh cash award along with a trophy. Also, the winning student along with his/her teacher will attend an all  expenses paid trip to Singapore to participate in Lions Clubs International Convention which will be held on June 20, 2020, says Ln. N. Jayaramu, District Cabinet Secretary.
