Chilkunda Sisters to perform at BVB Mysuru tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of monthly music programme, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, has organised a music concert by Chilkunda Sisters Vidu. Lakshmi Nagaraj and Vidu. Indu Nagaraj at BVB premises in Vijayanagar 1st Stage here at 6 pm tomorrow (Apr. 20). They will be accompanied by Janardhan Srinath on violin, Keshava Datta on mridanga and Samanth S. Gowda on ghata.

Profile: Vidu. Lakshmi Nagaraj and Vidu. Indu Nagaraj, who have the Karnatak music family background, are the daughters of noted musician and flautist C.A. Nagaraj and H.S. Radha, also a musician.

Popularly called as “Chilkunda Sisters,” they started learning music at the tender age of three from their grandmother C.S. Sathya Lakshmi. They are the winners of “Ede thumbe haduvevu” programme conducted by noted playback singer Dr. SPB for two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006 in ETV channel. They received “Aryabatta” award in 2009 for best performance in Karnatak music.
