Chinmaya bags Rolling Shields in Bhagavad Gita recitation and Debate contests

Mysuru: Chinmaya Vidyalaya had organised an Inter-School Bhagavad Gita competition in memory of H.N. Vishalakshamma recently.

The competition included recitation of 16th chapter, 7-12 shlokas and their meaning. UoM Lecturer Rachoti Devaru and Deeksha PU College lecturer Srinivas Bhat were the judges of the competition.

University of Mysore (UoM) Asst. Professor Anantha Nagendra Bhat was the chief guest. Vidyalaya President H.N. Ramatheertha, who is also a Gita Pravachanakar, presided.

Primary Section Asst. Mistress Shakuntala rendered invocation. Primary Head Mistress V. Dakshayini welcomed and introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Asst. Mistress Kruthi Jaykumar proposed a vote of thanks. Asst. Mistress Manjula compered the programme.

Vidyalaya Secretary Sharada Prasad, PU College Principal Sujatha Jayaram and High School HM Gopalakrishna Joshi were present.

Winners

Pratham Kuduva (Chinmaya Vidyalaya) – 1st prize; Skanda P. Kumar (Vidyavardhaka) – 2nd prize; Karthikeya (Maharshi Public School) – 3rd prize; A. Gagan  (Chinmaya Vidyalaya) and Pranav V. Kashyap (Vijaya Vittala School) – Consolation.

Kannada Debate Competition

The Vidyalaya had also organised an Inter-School Kannada Debate Competition in memory of Subbamma Ramachandra Pandit recently. Topics for the competition included ‘The Role of Public in Keeping City Clean’ and ‘The Consequences of Reality Shows.’

Vivekananda College Lecturer Lingappa and Goppalaswamy PU College Lecturer Latheshwari were the Judges of the competition. NIE College Asst. Professor P.S. Suma was the chief guest. Primary Asst. Mistress Sujatha rendered invocation.

Topic 1: The role of public in keeping city clean — Niharika (Chinmaya Vidyalaya) – 1st prize; Akshari M. Bhat (Vijaya Vittala School) – 2nd prize; Srishti S. Narayan (Vidyavardhaka School) – 3rd prize; P. Chiranjeevi Gowda (Mahajana Public School) – Consolation; Topic 2: The consequences of Reality Shows — Raksha Pradeep (GSSS) – 1st prize; M.S. Keerthana  (Chinmaya Vidyalaya) – 2nd prize; B.M. Raghavendra Prasad (Maharshi Public School) – 3rd prize; S. Aniruddha (Vijaya Vittala Vidyashala) – Consolation.
