Mysuru: ‘Chinnara Mela,’ the annual summer camp organised by Rangayana, concluded last evening featuring an awareness on fire-fighting, ‘Okuliyata’ and dancing to the beat of drums at Kalamandira premises here.
A ‘Makkala Santhe’ was also organised where items like fruit salad, churumuri and panipuri were sold by children which were also prepared by them.
Okuliyata: Children splashed coloured water stored in drums on each other and thoroughly enjoyed, also joined by their parents clicking selfies all along.
Fire-fighting: Fire Officer Somashekar of Saraswathipuram Fire Station briefed the children on simple fire-fighting techniques. He suggested children to call the Fire Station if the fire cannot be controlled. He advised people to use good rubber tubes for LPG with ISI mark.
Later, a small created thatched shed was set on fire and extinguished in a demonstration. Five types of water jets were also demonstrated when the kids enjoyed under the artificial shower.
Rangayana Director Bhagirathibai Kadam and others were present during the occasion.
