Chintana Chavadi inauguration today at Kalamandira

Mysuru:  Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep will inaugurate the mini open air theatre ‘Chintana Chavadi’ that has come up in Kalamandira premises on Hunsur Road in city this evening (Feb.22) at 5.30 pm.

Built by the Kannada and Culture Department, this is a mini theatre where about 50 to 70 people can sit and watch cultural, musical and other programmes related to theatre. This intimate theatre is ideally suited for discussions and interactions and hence is aptly named ‘Chintana Chavadi.’

The stage is created in a circular fashion where everyone can have a clear view. It is built under the Kalamandira maintenance grant. The cost is minimised as the use of all modern equipment have been scaled down. The main idea of this mini theatre is to see that it is used to have interactions with many unsung people in various arts like Janapada, Harikathe, Gamaka, Maddale and literature, understand their minds and listen to their heartbeats.

The interaction is called ‘Saadakarodane Naavu-Neevu’ (Interaction with Achievers).

Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam and Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy will be the chief guests. The special invitees include veterans in the theatre field like Dr. N. Ratna, Prof. H.S. Ramachandregowda, Prof. Kalegowda Nagavara, Prof. Hanuru Krishnamurthy, Janardhan (Janni), Y.D. Rajanna, Mime Ramesh, Prof. Rameshwari Varma, Rajashekar Kadamba and others.
