Mandya: Mandya SP Dr. M. Ashwini said that the investigation into the milk adulteration scam in ManMUL (Mandya Milk Union Limited) has been handed over to CID (Criminal Investigation Department).

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Dr. Ashwini said that the jurisdictional Maddur Police had registered a case regarding the scam on May 28, following which investigation was taken up under the guidance of Nagamangala Dy.SP.

The Police have arrested a few persons in connection with the case and several vital information have been gathered from them, she said.

Giving details about the scam, she said that prima facie it has been found that milk was mixed with equal quantity of water during transportation of milk in tankers from BMC centres to ManMUL at Gejjalagere on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway.

Noting that the scam is a huge one in which several ManMUL officials and staff too may have been involved, Dr. Ashwini said that the case has been handed over to CID for further investigation, following a Government direction.

Additional SP V. Dhananjaya and Dy.SP Naveen Kumar were present at the press meet.
