Mysore/Mysuru: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysuru Zone, is organising a workshop on “Impact and Compliance Structure under the New Labour Codes – Preparedness for its Implementation” tomorrow (Nov.30) from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm at Hotel Southern Star in city.
Indian Parliament has passed four Labour Codes during 2019 and 2020, by amending and consolidating 29 Central Labour Laws. Labour Codes which received the assent of the President of India, the effective date of its commencement is awaited by the Government of India. State Governments are framing the Rules for the effective implementation of procedural aspects of the four labour codes, which includes, registrations, renewals, licensing, authorities, inspectorate, compliance, and penalties to name a few. The New Labour Codes provides for a paradigm shift in labour administration and governance.
The workshop will provide a detailed understanding on the four Labour Codes brought in by the Government of India, its impact on industries and how we need to adapt to the changes as mandated by the codes.
The workshop will be conducted by Dr. G. Manjunath, KAS, Additional Labour Commissioner (Industrial Relations), Government of Karnataka.
The workshop topics include: Understanding the recently passed Codes on OSH, IR and Social Security, Code on Occupational Health & Safety & Working Conditions and key provisions of the Code, Overview of Code on Industrial Relation and proposed changes therein, Key provisions under the Code on Wages- 2019 and Draft central Rules, Glimpse of Proposed Central Code on Social Security, Revised Government Machinery constituted under the Codes and Proposed Penal provisions under the new/ proposed Codes.
