Citizens’ Collective submits proposals for MCC Budget

Dr. Shushrutha Gowda, Chief Convenor of Greater Mysuru with Great Vision, along with members of Citizens’ Forum, submitting a memorandum to MCC Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif in city recently.

Mysore/Mysuru: Citizens’ Collective, a delegation of professionals, social activists and concerned citizens, under the banner of ‘Greater Mysuru with Great Vision’ submitted a memorandum to Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif, urging the administration to include citizen-centric and future-ready proposals in the 2026-27 MCC Budget.

The delegation was led by Dr. Shushrutha Gowda, Chief Convenor of Greater Mysuru with Great Vision, along with members of the Citizens’ Forum recently.

Key proposals in the memorandum include: Creation of a challenge fund for sustainable urban innovation; Dedicated budgetary allocation for the use of Artificial Intelligence in civic administration; Special fund for heritage conservation and protection; Launch of the ‘Namma Mysuru’ Cultural Festival and City Achievers’ Awards; Implementation of a garbage-free and pollution-free Mysuru initiative; Introduction of “Our Ward – Our Park” community participation model;  Technology-enabled road maintenance and monitoring system and Special allocation for footpath reconstruction and pedestrian safety.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shushrutha Gowda stated that Mysuru must evolve into a model city that blends its royal heritage with innovation, transparency and citizen participation.

The delegation appreciated the Mysuru City Corporation for inviting public suggestions and called upon the authorities to treat the memorandum as a roadmap for long-term, people-first governance.
