CITU launches indefinite stir demanding better facilities at ESI Hospital

Mysuru: Accusing the ESI Corporation of rendering injustice to beneficiaries and their family members, over 50 members of the CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions) launched an indefinite stir in front of ESI Hospital on KRS Rod here this morning.

Alleging that as per a new norm, workers having wages of over Rs. 15,000 (max. 21,000) per month were asked to wait for 2 years to get super speciality treatment, the protestors urged 24×7 OT services in ESI Hospital, appointment of doctors and Lab Technicians in accordance with the number of beneficiaries, installation of most modern medical equipments in the new building, conduct of all medical test at ESI Hospital and dispensing quality drugs, among others.

The protestors warned of continuing the stir till the concerned Minister and authorities arrive and assure of fulfilling their demands. CITU District President N.K. Balaji Rao, office-bearers G. Jayaram, M.K. Shashikumar and others took part in the protest.
