He hence urged the Union Government to intervene and arrest the killers. He also alleged that for the sake of vote bank, the Government had withdrawn cases on 1,700 people belonging to a particular community. Earlier to that, the protesters took out a procession from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple to the DC’s office.

Shifting of Indira Canteen
In another protest, local residents led by former Mayor Ayub Khan staged a demo near the traffic signal junction in udayagiri here yesterday opposing the move of officers concerned to shift the under-construction Indira Canteen from the junction said to be at the behest of Minister Tanveer Sait.
Speaking to press persons, Ayub Khan opined that the proposed Indira Canteen at the signal light junction coming under Ward 51 would have been very convenient for people of Rajivnagar, Shantinagar, Kalyanagiri, Munneshwara Layout, Indiranagar, Kyathamaranahalli and Gayatripuram. He alleged that shifting the canteen to Ward 54 at the behest of the Minister was inappropriate.
The protesters staged a rasta roka for some time and insisted on arrival of MCC Commissioner to solve the issue.
On receiving information, MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha arrived on the spot and convinced Ayub Khan that he would bring the matter to the notice of District in-Charge Minister and take a final decision. Following the assurance, Ayub Khan withdrew the protest.
