City cyclists bag medals at Natl. Mountain Bike Championship

Mysuru: Four young cyclists from city, who represented the State in the 17th National Mountain Bike Championship 2020-21 held at Gadag recently, have bagged medals in the championship.

The young cyclists have bagged seven Gold medals and one Silver medal in Time Trial and Mass Start events to grab the Overall Championship Award for the third consecutive year.

The medal winners are: Adonis K. Tangpu (Under 18 boys) – two gold; Charith Gowda (Under 16 boys) – two gold; Karen Marshal (Under 16 girls) – two gold and Samarpan Jain (Under 14 boys) has bagged one gold and one silver medal.

Cyclists Adonis K. Tangpu and Charith Gowda have been selected by the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) for Indian MTB Cycling Camp with education, boarding and lodging, medical and cycling related complete facility at Patiala Sports Centre, Punjab. The CFI has also declared Adonis as India’s Best Cyclist of the Year -2021.

All the cyclists are trained by T.V. Nagaraj of Cycling My Sooru Training Academy.
