Mysuru: Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Assistant Professor, MYRA School of Business, Mysuru, will present a research paper ‘Tunnelling and Propping through Related Party Transactions: Indian Evidence’ at Paris Financial Management Conference (PFMC) 2017 organised by IPAG Business School, Paris, France, from Dec.18 to 20.
Dr. Gupta’s research paper estimates the value effect of related party transactions on firm performance and further emphasises on the role of internal governance mechanism. This is a study of the business group affiliated firms and follows the minority investors’ expropriation view. The study is of importance for policymakers, market participants and academic community as it explores the control motivations prevailing in business group affiliated firms.
Dr. Gupta is Fellow (Ph.D) of the Indian Institute of Management Indore and is currently working as Assistant Professor at MYRA School of Business in Finance and Accounting area. His teaching and research interest primarily lie in Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance and Risk Management.
