Mysuru: The Mysuru District Administration, along with City and District Police, has geared for a grand 76th Republic Day celebrations at Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap tomorrow.
The City Police, headed by DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraju and DCP (CAR) A. Maruti, conducted rehearsals on Wednesday and Thursday at the Parade Grounds.
Social Welfare and District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will hoist the National Flag at 9 am tomorrow before receiving the guard of honour. Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and Chamarajanagar MP Sunil Bose will be the chief guest. MLA Tanveer Sait will preside. Animal Husbandry Minister K. Venkatesh, Jungle Lodges and Resorts Chairman C. Anil Kumar (Anil Chikkamadu), CESC Chairman Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, Karnataka State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority Vice-Chairperson Dr. Pushpa Amarnath.
MLAs G.T. Devegowda, D. Ravishankar, T.S. Srivatsa, K. Harishgowda, Darshan Dhruvanarayan & G.D. Harish Gowda, MLCs A.H. Vishwanath, Dr. D. Thimmaiah, C.N. Manjegowda, Madhu G. Madegowda, Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah and S. Vivekananda, Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman Ayub Khan and CADA Chairman Mariswamy, DC G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, DIG (Southern Range) Dr. Boralingaiah, SP N. Vishnuvardhana and others will be present.
Two platoons each of KSRP and Home Guards personnel, along with two platoons of Seva Dal Police Public School and Jawahar Navodya School, one platoon each of CAR personnel, KR, NR, Devaraja, Vijayanagar, Traffic, Mahila Police, Mounted Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Excise, Scouts and Guides and three platoons of NCC will take part in the parade. Each platoon will comprise a total of 27 personnel including the platoon commander.
This year, CAR Police Inspector Sharanabasappa D. Sasanur will be the parade commandant. The parade will be followed by cultural programmes by students of various schools.
Attendance Compulsory
The District Administration has made it mandatory for Government officials and employees (Central and State, Corporations, Authorities, Autonomous Institutions) to take part in the Republic Day celebrations tomorrow.
A press release from the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) said that the officials must mark their attendance in the register kept at the entrance. The officials in-charge of the attendance have been instructed to submit the register to the Office of the ADC on conclusion of the event.
