S. Thanya from Mysuru, who represented Dolphin Aquatics in State Aquatic Championship 2023-24 held at Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, recently, won 3 Gold, 2 Silver & 3 Bronze Medals in Group-2 Girls Category. Over 840 swimmers from all over Karnataka participated in this competition.

The 14-year-old Thanya participated in the following 5 Individual & 3 Relay events from Group-2 Girls Category and Created New Meet Record in 200 mtrs Breaststroke event by breaking the 2018 record (timing of 2:47:45):

Individual Events — 1. 200 mts Breaststroke (timing 2:46:25) – Gold (New Meet Record); 2. 400 mts Medley (5:23:40) –  Gold; 3. 50 mts Breaststroke (36:95) – Silver; 4. 100 mts Breaststroke (1:18:22) – Silver; 5. 200 mts Medley (2:31:54) – Bronze.

Relay Events — 1. 4×100 mts Medley (4:40:70) – Gold (New Meet Record); 2. 4×100 mts Freestyle (4:24:09) – Bronze; 3. 4×200 mts Freestyle (9:50:37) – Bronze.

Thanya is trained under Pavan Kumar of Global Sports Association, J.P. Nagar Swimming Pool, Mysuru. A 9th std. student of Sri Sharada Public School, Mysuru, Thanya is the daughter of S.P. Shadakshari and N. Shwetha.
