City girls win medals at National Roller Skating Championship

City roller skater K.S. Prathiksha showcased exceptional prowess at the 61st National Roller Skating Championship organised by the Roller Skating Federation of India in Chennai from Dec. 18   to 25, 2023.

In the fiercely competitive 14-17 years age category, she clinched two gold medals, triumphing in the Road 500 metres and the Rink Relay 3000 metres events. Additionally, Prathiksha secured a silver medal in the Rink 500 metres and a bronze medal in the Rink 200 metres.

Prathiksha has honed her skills under the expert guidance of coach K. Shrikanth Rao from Raos Roller Skating Club in Mysuru.

A 10th standard student at St. Joseph’s Central School, Vijayanagar, Prathiksha is the daughter of K. Shankar and Nirmala Shankar, residents of Vijayanagar    2nd Stage.

Pavani S. Shetty of Elite Roller Skating Academy, Siddhartha Layout, Mysuru, too participated in the 500+D event of the 61st National Roller Skating Championship held at Chennai and has won bronze medal in the Quad Category.

Pavani is the daughter of Sathish and Pushpa and is studying at KV School, Mysuru.

She trains under M.G. Uma and Adithya S. Rao at Elite Roller Skating Academy in city.
