City Nutritionist wins Most Innovative Counsellor Award

Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Nutrition Counsellor Dr. Sushma Appaiah was conferred the ‘Most Innovative Nutrition Counsellor of the Year Award’ under the category of India’s most prominent fitness awards 2019-20 by Merit Awards & Market Research. 

The awards ceremony was held on Feb.1 at Hotel Holiday Inn, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi. Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal was the chief guest.

The award is in recognition of Dr. Sushma’s diet and nutrition counselling as most innovative solutions. She believes in providing the diet plans based on food habits and nutrients specific to patients’ health and nutritional status, from daily foods.

Founder of Golz-Nutrition and Diet Solutions, Dr. Sushma, a DST women scientist awardee, is practicing as Nutrition Counsellor in Mysuru since four years and presently counselling at two centres — Roopanagar and at Kshema Healthcare, Bogadi.

Dr. Sushma got her Doctorate degree in Functional Food Formulations from CSIR – CFTRI and Post-Graduate degree in Food Science and Nutrition with second rank from University of Mysore.  In 2018, she got special recognition for food formulation for special children at the International Knowledge Millennium Conference, conducted by Innovation Knowledge Park (IKP), Hyderabad.

She is specially recognised for   nutrition solutions for children with special needs — Autistic, ADH, Epilepsy, MR and CP. She regularly conducts programmes on nutrition awareness for corporate, school children and special needs empowerment.

Currently, she is Convener of Indian Dietetic Association (IDA), Mysore Chapter, according to a press release from IDA.
