Mysuru: With the country celebrating the 73rd Independence Day tomorrow (Aug.15), the City Police have appealed Mysuru citizens to maintain Law & Order.
In a press release, City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna has asked schools, colleges and other educational institutions to deploy more security personnel for the celebrations to ensure safety and security of the participants. Also, the campus must be inspected and the Police must be informed if any suspicious objects are found in the premises.
CCTVs must be installed and more security personnel must be deployed at public places and public joints such as malls, markets, airport, tourist spots etc., as a security measure. House and other building owners must seek complete details of the tenants/lessees before renting or leasing out their premises.
The owners of hotels, lodges, resorts, guest houses etc., are required to thoroughly check the luggage and baggages of tourists and other customers and seek their identity, before they are allowed into the rooms.
The usage of plastic flags has been banned and any disrespect to the National Flag will attract punishment. Metal detectors have been installed at Bannimantap Parade Grounds, where the Independence Day celebrations will take place. The public are asked to go through these metal detectors before taking part in the celebrations. As a security measure, the public are asked not to carry any weapons, knife, camera, glass water bottle, bags etc., along with them to the venue.
The public must not enter the parade ground and programme arena and must watch the celebrations sitting at designated places at the venue.
Vehicle parking: Judges, VVIPs, VIPs, MCC Corporators, Legislators, ZP President & Vice-President are required to enter through the main entrance gate of Bannimantap Ground and park their vehicles at the left and right sides of the entrance gate.
Police personnel, media representatives and other department personnel should park their vehicles near Gate-2. The public are required to park their two-wheeler and four-wheelers at Gate-5.
The parade participants are required to enter through Gate-8, after parking their vehicles near it. The public are allowed to enter the venue only through designated gates. Also, the public are required to follow the instructions of the Traffic Police on parking of vehicles. Legal action will be initiated against those who park their vehicles in a haphazard manner and obstruct traffic movement.
