Cash, mobile phones, ganja, knife, scissors, spoons turned into weapons seized
Mysore/Mysuru: City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh and his team of Police officers, conducted a surprise raid on Mysuru Central Prison yesterday afternoon and have seized various banned items found with the inmates at the jail.
Before conducting the raid, the Police team combed the outside surroundings of the Central Prisons to know if the news of the raid was already known and the banned items thrown outside the jail premises.
The Police team, led by the City Top Cop then entered the Central Prison premises and conducted surprise checks during which they found Rs. 15,000 cash, five mobile phones, 20 grams ganja, knife, scissors and spoons turned into weapons with the inmates and seized them.
Cases have been registered at Mandi Police Station under various Sections of the IPC against the inmates who were having the banned items.
DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraj, DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi, City Crime Branch (CCB) ACP Sandesh Kumar, Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shanthamallappa, N.R. Sub – Division ACP C.K. Ashwathnarayan, K.R. Sub-Division ACP S.E. Gangadharaswamy and staff were part of the team, which conducted the surprise raid.
