City Police get two new Highway patrol vehicles

Mysuru:  The Mysuru City Police Commissionerate has got two new Highway patrol vehicles for shifting those injured in accidents on Highways in rural areas and save precious lives.

This apart, the Highway patrol vehicles will be used to patrol the Ring Roads coming under city limits, will be used as Escort vehicles for VIPs, reach the place on Highways where robbery or dacoity has taken place, to collect information and pass the same to the Police Control Room. It will also be used during riots, clashes, communal riots etc., in city limits.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subramanyeswara Rao, DCPs Mahaninga B. Nandaganvi and B.V. Kittur yesterday inspected the newly-procured Highway patrol vehicles and collected information from the vehicle drivers.

The two Toyota Innova vehicles (KA-55-G-0471 and KA-55-G-0472), the latest addition to the City Police fleet, are equipped with two hi-tech cameras on the top, a screen to see the visuals of the cameras which is linked to the City Police Control Room, a portable barricade, UPS, a stretcher, two search lights, a hacksaw, GPS and other equipment that are required for meeting any emergencies. Each patrol vehicle has a driver and four personnel.

The State Government had recently ordered 100 Toyota Innova vehicles to be used for Highway patrolling, out of which two have been sanctioned for the City Police Commissionerate.
