City Police hold property parade

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar handing over the recovered gold jewellery to its owner at the City Police Commissioner’s Office in Nazarbad, Mysuru, this morning during property parade.

1.578-kg gold, 3.578-kg silver, 10 vehicles worth Rs. 2.09 crore and over Rs. 2.76 lakh cash recovered in 44 cases

Mysuru, June 8 (BLU&KS)- The Mysuru City Police held a property parade pertaining to recovery of stolen gold, silver, vehicles and cash by solving a total of 44 cases including property thefts and cheating which had taken place in the last three months.

Police had recovered a total of 1.578-kg and 743-milligram gold ornaments, 3.578-kg silver articles, 10 stolen vehicles worth about Rs. 2.09 crore and Rs. 2,76,786 cash in the 44 cases.

Addressing a press meet at her office in city this morning, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar said that a total of 44 cases including one dacoity conspiracy case, two extortion cases, 10 robbery cases, nine house burglaries, four theft cases by house helps, 10 vehicles lifting, five petty thefts and three cheating cases, which had taken place in the last three months have been solved by arresting a total of 55 accused persons.

Some of the cases solved by the City Police in the last three months included the cheating case at Mandi Police limits with the arrest of two accused and recovery of 660-gram gold ingots worth Rs. 90 lakh; two house burglary cases in Vijayanagar Police limits with the arrest of two accused and recovery of 170-gram gold ornaments and readymade garments worth Rs. 23,50,000; arrest of two accused by CCB Police in three robbery and one house burglary cases and recovery of 173-gram and 260-milligram of gold ornaments worth Rs. 21 lakh; four house burglary cases in Saraswathipuram Police by arresting two accused and recovering 143-gram gold worth Rs. 18.40 lakh; and three petty thefts and one theft by house help in Lashkar Police limits by arresting four accused and recovering 202-gram gold and 192-gram silver worth Rs. 11.45 lakh among other cases.

The City Top Cop handed over a few gold jewellery items to the owners, who had produced relevant documents pertaining to the ownership of the items.

SDJ Gold Company fraud

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar said that 310 complaints have been lodged against Soundar Raj alias Chinnathambi of SDJ Gold Company for cheating customers from 2017 till date. Chinnathambi has been remanded to Judicial Custody, she added.

The City Top Cop said that the assets of Chinnathambi including properties will be seized after obtaining permission from the Court and added that customers who have been cheated should come forward and lodge a complaint. She also said that legal action will be initiated against guides, if they are found cheating tourists coming to city.
