Mysuru: Jayaprakash Rao, Media Advisor, City Police Wing, was the Regional Public Relations Officer at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) when late President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was also working there.

In recognition of his long association with Dr. Kalam, Jayaprakash Rao was invited as the chief guest at a function organised by Indian Association in Chicago, USA, recently to mark the 2nd death anniversary of Dr. Kalam.

Addressing the gathering, Jayaprakash Rao spoke on the life history of Dr. Kalam and his scientific prowess, schemes introduced during his tenure as President like Vision-2020.

Kannada Kasturi FM Radio in Toronto, Canada, had earlier broadcast an interview with Jayaprakash Rao focussing on works and skills of Dr. Kalam.

Jayaprakash Rao is also a freelance journalist and his Kannada translation of Dr. Kalam’s autobiography titled ‘Agni Rekkegalu’ has seen 14 prints.
