Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Mallinath Kumbar, Professor, Department of Library and Information Science (DoS) in Library and Information Science (LIS), University of Mysore, has received the Best Academic LIS Professional Award – 2022 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the national and international academic research on librarianship and library development. 

This award was given for his illustrious professional contributions towards development in the field of Library and Information Science.  The award was presented during the international conference on “Knowledge Organisation in Academic Libraries” (I-KOAL 2022) held at Tumkur University on Apr.22.

Dr. Mallinath Kumbar is working as a Professor in the Department of Studies in Library and Information Science for the past 23 years.  Earlier, he had served in Mangalore University and Kuvempu University, Shivamogga. 

Under his guidance, 22 students have been awarded Ph.Ds and 8 students are currently pursuing Ph.D.  He has published 232 research papers in international and national journals and conference proceedings.
