Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. B. Nirmala, Retired Associate Professor and HoD of Hindi at Maharani’s Science College, Mysuru, a poet, social activist and also a cricketer of the city, has received three international and three national awards in December 2023.
On Dec.3 at Hindi Bhavan, New Delhi, Dr. Nirmala received Vishwa Hindi Samman Award from Japan Cultural Centre, Tokyo and Hindi Sevi Samman award from Dr. Rama Poornima Sharma, Editor of ‘Hindi Ki Goonj’ international magazine of Japan. She received ‘Admirable Achiever’ certificate, medal, trophy and badge from Dr. Vidushi Sharma, editor of ‘King’s Book of World Records’ for her collection of poetry in 21 languages on a single theme, in which her poem of 74 lines was included, at New Delhi. This is her second world record in literature.
She has created a third world record in literature by entering ‘Worldwide Book of Records’ for her book ‘Sashakt Divyang’ (she is a co-applicant) to be published by editor Dr. Vidushi Sharma.
On Dec. 21, she (Dr. Nirmala) received ‘Sahitya Gourav Sammaan’ from Shakti Brigade Sahitya Ganga Kanpur and on Dec. 23, she received ‘Indian Glory Award 2023’ and ‘Genius Writer of India Award 2023’ from Swadesh Sansthan Bharat, Ayodhya.
Earlier in 2021, she had secured an award, certificate, medal and trophy for her first world record from Harvard World Records, London for ‘Akhanda Bharat Ek Yug Drustha’, a collection of poems in 19 languages in which her Kannada poem ‘Astitvave illa, Astitvave illa, Astitvave illa’ and Hindi poem ‘Ek Shaheed Ka Paigaum’ were also included.
She has received more than 110 national and international awards in literature in the past three years.
