City Publisher D.N. Lokappa nominated for State-level Book Selection Committee

Former District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Chief N. Girigowda another Panel Member

Mysore/Mysuru: Noted Publisher from Mysuru D.N. Lokappa has been nominated as one of the Committee Members of the State-level Book Selection Committee for a period of two years.

A 15-member Committee has been formed by the Government on behalf of State Central Library under the Chairmanship of senior litterateur Dr. Doddarangegowda. 

D.N. Lokappa is a known name in literary and publishing field and owns Sri Rajendra Printers and Publishers and Samvahana Prakashana. He is involved in book printing and publishing, teaching and is known for literary activities since decades. 

He was the President of Akhila Karnataka Book Publishers Association and State Parishat Member of Karnataka Writers and Publishers Association. He was also the Trustee of Nrupathunga Vidya Samsthe, President of Taralabalu Samagama and Member of Kannada Book Authority. 

To recognise young writers, Lokappa has instituted “Samvahana Yuva Lekhaka” award where a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 is given. Recently, a felicitation was organised in Lokappa’s honour in Mysuru by his fans and well-wishers where a felicitation volume ‘Lokapriya’ was released. 

Former District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President N. Girigowda has also been nominated as a Committee  Member.
