City Railway Station bags 25th rank in cleanliness

Mysuru:  City Railway Station has bagged 25th rank in the all-India ranking for Railway Station in terms of cleanliness that was announced recently.  The city Railway Station had also bagged the best tourist friendly station award in the country around four years ago.

The Railway authorities say that they accord top priority for cleanliness at the Railway Station round the year irrespective of any ranking or inspection. The rankings are as per the third party audit of 407 Railway Stations in the country conducted
by the Quality Council of India and commissioned by the Indian Railways.

Out of maximum 1000 marks, Mysuru Railway Station secured 784 marks and has been ranked second in the South Western Railway and 14th among 332 ‘A’ category Railway Stations that were surveyed and won 25th place in the overall ranking. Mysuru and Bengaluru City Railway Station which was ranked 18th overall are the only two stations in the State to make it to the top 25 cleanest Railway Stations in the country.
