City roads witness traffic jams for Dasara

Mysuru: As Dasara events have commenced with city roads illuminated in a unique manner, tourists are arriving in large numbers from across the State and neighbouring States as well, city roads are seeing huge vehicular traffic resulting in traffic jams.

As part of Dasara festivities, Flower Show, Aahara Mela, Dasara Exhibition, cultural programmes at various venues across the city, Drone Show and Air Show have begun and the grand finale — Jumboo Savari — to be held on Oct. 21, tourists have arrived in numbers and more tourists are arriving daily.

As vehicular traffic has increased, prominent roads such as Sayyaji Rao Road, roads around Mysore Palace, Mysuru-Bengaluru Road, Chamaraja Double Road, JLB Road, Krishnaraja Boulevard, Ramavilas Road, Vani Vilas Road, M.G. Road, Lalitha Mahal Road, KRS Road and Hunsur Road and even prominent Circles and junctions are witnessing traffic jams. Traffic jams are more especially during evenings when city roads are lit up as thousands of people throng city roads in their vehicles creating bumper-to-bumper traffic resulting in vehicles moving in a snail’s pace.

This has caused problems to those going to work as 10 minutes journey to their work place is now taking over an hour.
