City sculptor Arun Yogiraj gets Bharatiya Sanskriti Kala Puraskar

Mysuru: Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, who carved the Balak Ram idol for the Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, has been honoured with the ‘Bharatiya Sanskriti Kala Puraskar’ (Indian Culture Art Award) under the esteemed Indology initiative, conceptualised by industrialist Gautam Adani.

Gautam Adani presented the award to Arun Yogiraj at a special ceremony held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, recently.

“Received the Bharatiya Sanskriti Kala Puraskar from Gautam Adani ji in Ahmedabad, under his esteemed Indology initiative. Honoured and grateful for this recognition,” Arun posted on his X handle.

The prestigious award recognises Arun Yogiraj’s significant contribution to Indian culture and art. Expressing his gratitude, he said the honour carries great meaning for him.

Speaking on the occasion, he added, “Gautam Adani’s Indology initiative, dedicated to the study and preservation of India’s rich history and culture, is highly commendable. Receiving this award from such a distinguished platform has further motivated me for my future work. I am always ready to strive more for the service of Indian culture.”

Senior officials from Adani Group, scholars in the field of Indology and numerous artists were present at the event.
