City students bag medals at All India Student Design Competition

Ayesha Khanum (extreme left) of GSSSIETW, Mysuru, is receiving the Gold Medal from the dignitaries during the 26th IEI Convention held at the Institution of Engineers-India (IEI) premises in Jharkhand.

Mysuru:  The National Design and Research Forum (NDRF) of The Institution of Engineers-India (IEI), annually organises a National-level Design Competition for Engineering students across the country. The competition challenges students to come up with innovative designs and showcase their individual engineering skills  and talents.

This year’s competition was open to students studying in final/ pre-final year leading to BE / B.Tech / ME / MTech /MS or equivalent courses in Engineering or have passed section ‘A’ Examinations of the IEI.

Fifteen project proposals from various Departments of GSSSIETW, Mysuru, was submitted under Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering disciplines to the  49th All India Student Design Competition-2018.

Among fifteen proposals, two of the project proposals from the Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering disciplines bagged the award.

Ayesha Khanum of final year BE (Computer Science and Engineering), GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru, won the Gold Medal in Computer Engineering Discipline for the project idea ‘Wireless Home Security Surveillance System using Android Application.’

She received the medal during the 26th IEI Convention Technicians’ / Students’ Convention held at the IEI, Jharkhand, recently.

C.A. Mythri, Final year BE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) student, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru, won the Bronze Medal in Electrical Engineering Discipline for the project idea ‘IOT Based Waste Management.’
