S. Tanya, a Grade 9 student at Sri Sharada Public School, won the gold medal in the 400 IM (Individual Medley) at the Khelo India Youth Games 2024 held at Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

She is the daughter of S.P. Shadakshari and Shwetha, residents of J.P. Nagar, Mysuru.

Tanya has also won three medals at the 67th National School Games-2023-24 held at Talkotra in New Delhi.

In the Under 17 Girls category, she won the 400 mts Individual Gold, 200 mts Breaststroke Silver and 4×100 mts Medley Bronze medals, making her the first swimmer from Mysuru to win gold, silver and bronze medals at the National School Games.

School Secretary Manjunath Srivatsa, Administrative Officer M. Gururaj and School Principal M.V. Shalini felicitated Tanya on her achievement.
