Mysuru: With Dasara celebrations approaching, the Mysuru City Police held a meeting with owners of hotels, lodges, cottages and resorts at a private hotel auditorium on Wednesday, urging them to remain vigilant and help prevent any untoward incidents during the festival.
Around 200 owners and representatives of hospitality establishments attended the meeting.
City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar instructed them to maintain complete details of all guests staying at their establishments during the Dasara season.
She said identity documents such as Aadhaar cards and voter IDs must be collected and verified before providing accommodation. She also asked the owners to immediately alert the Police if they come across any suspicious persons or activities.
She said hotels and lodges have an important role to play in maintaining security during major public events and sought the cooperation of the hospitality sector to ensure the safety of visitors and residents during Dasara season.
DCPs Dr. Harsha Priyamvada (Law and Order) and K.S. Sundar Raj (Crime and Traffic), ACPs Rajendra, K.T. Mathews Thomas and Raviprasad, and Inspectors from all Police Stations were present at the meeting.
