City tourism stakeholders call on Patil; seek a sector boost

Mysore/Mysuru: Tourism stakeholders of Mysuru met Tourism Minister H.K. Patil at Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel this morning and urged him to encourage the sector in Mysuru.

The stakeholders included former MLA Vasu, Mysuru Travels Association (MTA) President C.A. Jayakumar, Federation of Organisations and Associations of Mysuru (FOAM) President B.S. Prashanth and members and office-bearers of the Mysuru unit of Skal International.

The stakeholders urged the Minister to initiate a dialogue on how to give more impetus to Mysuru tourism sector and also requested him to take the stakeholders into confidence before taking any decision on tourism. They also invited the Minister to the Skal India Congress-2023 in Mysuru and Bengaluru from Oct. 4 to 8 this year.

Skal International is an association of travel and tourism professionals that encourages and creates a network of contacts around the world. The event will provide a comprehensive platform for professionals interested in contributing to the advancement of the travel industry and the event is supported by the Karnataka Department of Tourism. The stakeholders also sought funds from the Government as the event has a budget of Rs. 1 crore.
