City wears bridal look

A view of the illuminated Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle (Hardinge Circle) beckons visitors.

The illuminated main thoroughfares, Central Business District and a 100-km radius of major streets of Mysuru city are a sight to behold during Dasara festivities. Apart from the core heritage zone, commercial hubs, important roads and circles/ junctions have been brightly lit with colourful lights by the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) that is spending Rs. 5 crore for the project.

Even the trees on the roadside are rimmed with light and the city looks dazzling and vibrant. Smartphones and tablets have come in handy for hundreds of tourists to capture the lights and from tomorrow, the Mysore Palace too will be lit and will pull crowds with its golden hue. As in earlier years, the insignia lighting depicting mythological stories, modern concepts and also landmarks too is attracting eyeballs.
