Mysuru: Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, hosted World Stroke Day with a yoga session held in front of Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple located at Mysore Palace North Gate, here this morning. The event was aimed at raising awareness about stroke prevention, recognition and response. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of stroke is by staying physically active.
Former Indian Men’s Hockey Team Captain and Arjuna Awardee V.R. Raghunath graced the occasion, underscoring the importance of active lifestyle in preventing strokes. His presence motivated the participants to engage in physical activities, reinforcing the event’s message of health and wellbeing.
Consultants from Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru shared insights on identifying stroke symptoms and stressed the critical need for immediate action. Their guidance on recognising early warning signs aimed to empower individuals to act quickly, enhancing the chances of saving lives and supporting better recovery outcomes.
Stroke survivors who attended the event shared how reaching a stroke-ready hospital made it possible to save their lives. They also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the hospital and the Neurology team for saving their lives.
