K. Kusuma, working as a Senior Technician in CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysuru, bagged Bronze Medal in the Distance Swimming Competition organised by the Department of Physical Education (DPE), University of Mysore (UoM), Mysuru and Mysore District Swimming Association (MDSA), affiliated to Karnataka Swimming Association, Mysuru, at University Swimming Pool in city on Dec.23.
Though her right leg has been affected by polio at the age of two years, she competed with normal swimmers and won Bronze Medal by swimming for three hours and covering a distance of 4 kms.
