Civil contractor exemplifies honesty

Mysuru: A Civil Contractor has exemplified honesty by searching the address and returning a purse containing cash and gold jewels worth lakhs of rupees to the owner of the purse.

The Civil contractor, identified as Sadiq, a resident of 5th  Main, T.K. Layout here, has now won accolades from public and Police.

The marriage of Anita, daughter of Ananthramu, a retired a Assistant Sub-Inspector and a resident of Ramanuja Road in Agrahara was solemnised yesterday at Guru Raghavendra Bhavan on  New Kantharaja Urs Road in Kuvempunagar. The bride’s party was busy shifting materials, to the choultry right from Wednesday. On Thursday, Sadiq happened to notice a purse lying on New Kanthraje Urs Road. On picking it and opening, observed that it contained Rs. 3,300 in cash and about 100 gm of gold jewels. On finding a jewellers cash bill present in the purse, Sadiq approached the shop, got the mobile phone number of the person and informed him.

He handed over the purse to Saraswathipuram Police Station.

Yesterday afternoon, the Police summoned the brother of the bride and handed over the lost purse to him. Inspector K.C. Poovaiah and staff felicitated Sadiq.

When people yank off valuables at the slightest chance, tribe like Sadiq have become a microscopic rarity in society who deserve appreciation.
