Mysore/Mysuru: Naatya Sabha, Mysuru, will be presenting classical dance programmes ‘Obeisance to Shiva’ on Apr. 30 at 5.30 pm at Ganabharathi’s Ramagovinda Kalavedike in Kuvempunagar.

Kislaya Anand from Bengaluru will perform Kathak dance at 5.30 pm followed by a Bharathanatyam recital by team ‘Kalarpanam’ of Mysuru.

Kislaya Anand has been learning and performing under the guidance of his Guru Swapna Takavade from last several years. He has been performing solo across the prestigious cultural festivals of Karnataka and all over the country. Kislaya holds a degree in Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science.

In the Vedic scriptures the word ‘Shiva’ appears to define noble characteristics of a person attributing benevolent qualities of compassion, graciousness, generosity etc. However, this concept is personified in religious texts and Shiva is worshipped as supreme god. He is the manifestation of creator and destroyer. Tales of Shiva – Shive are being brought out as thematic dance presentation ‘Abhigamya Tatvam Prati’,which depicts ‘Obeisance to Shiva’. This concept was developed and choreographed by young dancers of the city — Apoorva G. Murthy, P. Shubhratha and R. Pavan Kumar — all of who have undergone extensive training under renowned gurus.
