Cleaning staff and safai workers of UoM to launch strike from tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: “Demanding the implementation of their various demands including minimum salary, ESI and PF benefits, the cleaning staff and safai workers attached to the University of Mysore (UoM) will launch an indefinite protest from tomorrow at 11 am,” said All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC) District Secretary Chandrashekar Meti.

He was speaking to media persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan in city yesterday.

Accusing the UoM of ignoring the demands of its cleaning staff and safai workers who are working for years under its jurisdiction, Chandrashekar Meti said that the disenchanted workers will launch an indefinite protest from tomorrow in front of  Kuvempu statue in Manasagangothri.
