This refers to the news item titled “Residents warned against letting rainwater into UGD system: MCC sets 15-day deadline” in Star of Mysore dated Jan. 17.

While appreciating the seriousness exhibited by MCC in this issue in the form of strict warning and threat to impose fine, I would urge the authorities to show equal seriousness to clear all the obstructions to the free flow of storm water at every entry passage of residence and vacant sites.

If the above problem is not resolved simultaneously with the UGD issue, there will be a huge flooding in front of all the houses and on the roads to become breeding ground for mosquitoes during rainy days. 

It becomes very difficult to even come out of the house or walk on the roads. Let it not become the proverbial saying, the treatment becoming worse than the disease.
