CM hosts Iftar for Muslim brethren

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah had hosted Iftar, on the occasion of Ramzan to the Muslim brethren of Myusru, here last evening. The CM greeted everyone at the get-together organised at the Prestige Convention Hall on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road in which thousands of people participated.

The Iftar began with a prayer offered by Sir Khazi Mohammed Usman Shariff.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait and MLC Rizwan Arshad offered dates to Siddharamaiah and greeted him. Later, including the dignitaries, everyone partook in the sumptuous spread of biriyani, parotha, chicken gravy, chicken kabab and sweets. More than 5,000 people had participated at the Iftar meet.

District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, MLAs Vasu, M.K. Somashekar and H.P. Manjunath, MLC R. Dharmasena, ZP former President Dr. Pushpa Amarnath, State Women’s Commission former Chairperson Manjula Manasa, Zoo Authority Chairperson Mallige Veeresh, MUDA Chairman  D. Dhruvakumar, Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman Siddaraju, Mysore Paints and Varnish Chairman H.A. Venkatesh, City Congress President R. Murthy, DC D. Randeep, SP Ravi D. Channannavar, University of Mysore Registrar D. Bharati and others were present.

Siddharamaiah, speaking on the occasion, said that he had been hosting Iftar get-together since the past 23 years and in the future too he would organise. The Muslims keep fast during the Holy Month of Ramzan and pray for the well-being of everyone in the world. They should also pray for good rains, as the State is facing severe drought conditions, he urged them.
