CM in Hunsur on May 31 to launch developmental works

Hunsur MLA chairs preliminary meeting

Hunsur: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will visit Hunsur on May 31 to launch a slew of developmental projects at an estimated cost of Rs. 300 crore, said Hunsur MLA H.P. Manjunath.

He was chairing a preliminary meeting at the Assistant Commissioner’s Office here yesterday. Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep and Additional Superintendent of Police Harish Pandey were present.

The MLA said that the Hanagodu Naala Series that was pending since years is being renovated at a cost of Rs. 150 crore.

A Primary Health Centre at Kallahalli, the birthplace of former Chief Minister D. Devaraja Urs will be set up at a cost of Rs. 2 crore and other development works will be taken up at a cost of Rs. 10 crore. Cement lining and culvert works will be taken up at 130 kms of Harangi Right Bank Canal and Rs. 12 crore will be utilised to develop Soolekere, he said.

Manjunath said that the State government has already released Rs. 150 crore to divert Kongana River at Ponnampet in Kodagu to Lakshmanatheertha River.

The MLA further said that along with the CM, Mysuru District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa and Health Minister Ramesh Kumar will participate.

DC Randeep said that on May 31, the CM will directly come to Periyapatna on a helicopter from Bengaluru and after launching development works, he will  travel to Hunsur by road at 3 pm. He asked the local officials to follow protocol as per the invitation and obtain a list of guests from the DC office for their names to be engraved in the plaque.
