Continuing his hectic campaign, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah today launched his third round of poll campaign for Nanjangud by-polls.
Starting his campaign from Deburu in Heggadahalli ZP, Siddharamaiah, who addressed a rally, said that the by-poll necessitated by the resignation of V. Sreenivasa Prasad, has opened the doors for Congress candidate Kalale Keshavamurthy to enter the Assembly.
Maintaining that he was seeking votes on development plank, Siddharamaiah said Keshavamurthy’s victory will open the flood-gates for further development of the constituency.
Stating that Keshavamurthy was always accessible to the people, he appealed the electorate to vote for the Congress candidate and not to pay heed to BJP leaders who are spreading lies.
The CM will continue with his poll campaign covering several villages coming under Heggadahalli and Hullahalli ZP limits.
The CM was accompanied by party candidate Kalale Keshavamurthy, former Minister Allum Veerabhadrappa and other local leaders.
Earlier, Siddharamaiah, speaking to press persons at his Ramakrishnanagar residence in Mysuru before leaving for Nanjangud, hit back at former CM S.M. Krishna, who yesterday said that “this was the worst Government he had ever seen.”
Asking Krishna to look back at his own administration as the CM more than 15 years ago, Siddharamaiah sarcastically said 30 Ministers of S.M. Krishna Cabinet lost in the 2004 Assembly elections, with the Congress tally coming down from 160 to a mere 60 and this was ample proof of his (Krishna) style of functioning.
