Belagavi: Asserting that the Congress would return to power in the 2018 Assembly polls, Chief Minster Siddharamaiah has urged the party Legislators to be more connected to the people.
Addressing the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at Suvarna Soudha Hall here yesterday, the CM reiterated that the party would form the next Government, whatever hue and cry the BJP is making. Declaring that he would present the Budget in January itself, the CM asked the party MLAs to come up with an estimate on the funds needed for developmental works in their respective constituency.
Taking the party Legislators to task for not taking active part in the ongoing Legislature Session at Belagavi, the CM asked them to compulsorily attend the Session and to take on the Opposition BJP over various issues.
KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwara, in his address, reminded the Legislators that this was the last Session to take place in Belagavi before the 2018 Assembly polls.
Questioning the Legislators about their absence despite the issuance of whip, he asked all party Legislators and Ministers to attend the remaining part of the Session without fail.
Claiming that the BJP was raking up unnecessary issues for political gains, the KPCC Chief stressed on the need for giving a fitting reply to the BJP which is demanding Minister K.J. George’s resignation in connection with Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy suicide case.
