CM offers ‘bagina’ at Kabini Dam

H.D. Kote: With Kabini dam in the taluk full to the brim following good rains in catchment areas, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on Thursday offered ‘bagina’ to the river.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said the dam has been full after a gap of 2 years and he felt happy to offer bagina to the dam.

Pointing out that the State Cabinet will discuss proposals on building a bridge at the front of the dam at a cost of Rs. 7 crore and setting up of a botanical garden at a cost of Rs. 55 crore, the CM assured that the dam will be developed as a big tourist spot.

Stating that Saragur has been declared as a new taluk, he said that Taraka road in the taluk will be developed by the PWD at a cost of Rs. 10 crore. Earlier, the Chief Minister, District-in-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and MP R. Dhruvanarayan were felicitated by former MLA Chikkanna at the latter’s house near the TB on way to the dam. Sugar Minister Dr. Geetha Mahadevaprasad, ZP President  Nayeema Sulthana,   MLAs Kalale Keshavamurthy and M.K. Somashekar, MLC R. Dharmasena, leaders Dr.  Yathindra Siddharamaiah, G.V. Sitaram, Nandakumar, Parashivamurthy, Siddaraju, Venkataswamy and others were present.
