Bengaluru: With the State Assembly polls just a couple of months away, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah is all set to organise a mega Udyoga Mela (Job Fair) in Mysuru city, to attract youth of his home district.
The Udyoga Mela is likely to take place after the forthcoming budget session of the State Assembly, which concludes in February end.
With the Chief Minister announcing his plans on organising the job fair, the Ministry of Heavy and Small Scale Industries is said to be working on it for nearly a month now.
IT major Infosys and other major IT-BT companies and manufacturing industries are said to have agreed to take part in this mega Udyoga Mela, which hopes to provide employment to over 8,000 youths from several districts coming under Mysuru region, according to sources.
The Government is said to have asked the participating companies to ensure that Kannadigas get a major share of the jobs that are on offer.
With polls around, the Chief Minister has wished to send an appeal to the youths, especially in his home district, that the Congress Government was doing more than enough for creation of jobs, sources added.
