CM to inaugurate two-day District-level Brahmin convention tomorrow

Mysuru: CM H.D. Kumaraswamy will inaugurate a convention organised under the aegis of District Brahmin Association at Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama premises on Nanjangud Road at 10 am tomorrow (Dec.15).

Announcing this at a press meet here this morning, Mysuru Zilla Brahmana Yuva Vedike President H.N. Sridharamurthy said that the meet is being held to organise all community members in the district and bring them to mainstream society.

A memorandum will be submitted to the CM seeking benefits to economically weak community members.

Pointing out that the two-day meet will have a host of cultural events, he said that the event will also feature Brahmana Yuva Ghosti, Shobha Yatre, Vipra Pratibha Puraskara and an expo of Brahmin entrepreneurs, among others.

KSOU faculty Dr. Shelvapille Iyengar will inaugurate Brahmana Yuva Ghosti at 5 pm on Dec.15. Music Director K. Kalyan will preside.

A Shobhayatre will be taken out from Shankar Mutt premises to Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama at 7.30 am on Dec.16. A number of Tableaux and Cultural troupes will accompany the massive Shobhayatre.

An expo of Brahmin Entrepreneurs, featuring 40 stalls, will be on display. Also, meritorious students of the community in SSLC and PUC will be felicitated.
