Col. C.K. Nayadu U-23 Tournament

Left-arm spinner J. Suchith’s six wicket haul (six for 74), enabled hosts Karnataka to bowl out Uttar Pradesh for 176 in 41 overs and register a big 17-run win on the penultimate day of the Col. C.K. Nayadu Trophy Plate (third place tie) U-23 match played at the SDNR Wadiyar Grounds yesterday.  Resuming their overnight score of six for two in 7.1 overs, Uttar Pradesh needing another 288-runs for an outright win were bowled out for 176 in 41 overs. Courtesy, excellent spell by left-arm spinner by Suchith (six for 74).

Skipper Shivam Chaudhary (24, 2x4s), Shubham Chaubey (20, 2x4s), Upendra Yadav (24, 2x4s, 2x6s) and Deepak Kumar 30 (4x4s, 2x6s) were the run-getters for Uttar Pradesh.              M. Prasidh (one for 22), Pradeep (one for 14), Shreyas Gopal (one for 46) and Prateek Jain (one for seven) were the other    wicket-takers.

With this win Karnataka earned promotion to the Elite group for the next year championship.
