College students rally for road safety

District Administration, Transport Department and Police Department, together with other organisations, had organised a Road Safety Rally ‘Yuvajanara Nadige Rasthe Surakshe Kadege’ in city this morning.

About 300 students of various Colleges in city participated in the rally.

The rally was flagged off by District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa which passed through main thoroughfares of the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahadevappa said that many precious lives were being lost in accidents and advised student to follow road safety rules.

Administering on oath on road safety to participating students, International Sportsperson Arjun Devaiah asked students to be disciplined and set a goal for life with a purpose. He advised students not to be too much engrossed with modern gadgets like smart-phones.

Transport Joint Commissioner C.T. Murthy, SP Ravi D. Channannavar, DC D. Randeep, IGP (Southern Range) Vipul Kumar, MLA Vasu, Mayor M.J. Ravi Kumar, Deputy Mayor Rathna Lakshman, Corporators Mallesh & Sunil and others were present on the occasion.
